Help design the future of owning and collecting classical fine art - on Ethereum!

We’re building the future of owning and collecting fine art, and we’re looking for people to join us.

Owning fine art is inaccessible for most people. We think we can solve this by combining fractionalization and blockchain technology in a simple, easy to use, platform. Long term, we intend to become the platform of record for making every kind of intangible value accessible.

You’ll work closely with our CEO, CTO, and designer to experiment, plan, and build new features. This contract will focus on specific functionality for the front end of our platform, building user facing features and interacting with our backend contracts (on Ethereum), and the APIs of our various integration partners.

We want to build the best team we can, and studies have shown women and people from marginalized communities can be less likely to apply to jobs if they don’t meet every criteria. If the above sounds interesting, we’d love to chat even if you don’t meet 100% of the criteria below.

What you’ll do

  • Turn designs and concepts into prototypes and eventually, end product features
  • Turn complicated product problems into simple user experiences
  • Ensure high quality graphic standards, brand consistency, and clean UIs
  • Closely collaborate with a small cross-functional team to shape the vision and product strategy

What will set you up for success

  • You’ve launched products and features, learnt from mistakes, and iterated on product requirements — we’re focused on continuously shipping and constantly improving
  • 3+ years of professional experience with React (or similar frameworks), CSS (we use Tailwind, and a small amount of custom CSS), and Jest (or similar testing frameworks)
  • Familiarity with Figma or similar design collaboration tools
  • Familiarity with Three.JS, Blender, Cinema4D, or other rendering software.
  • Experience with web3, fintech, or Fine Art
  • Comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity, great at communicating, and a belief that it’s more important to collectively find the right answer than it is to be right
  • At least 3 hour overlap with the working day (e.g. 9-5) in San Francisco. We’re distributed, but having some overlap with our CTO will be important

What it's like to work with Abstract Ventures

  • We’re a small startup! That means we move quickly to find product market fit, and you’ll be able to truly own and develop areas of the product that you are interested in.
  • Regardless of your experience, you’ll quickly learn more about the blockchain space. Some of the things we’re doing - in the way we're doing them - have never been attempted before.

Compensation

Freelance: $30,000-$45,000 (8 weeks), with an opportunity to join the team full team after project completion, dependent on performance.

If the above sounds interesting, we’d love for you to let us know you read this far by including a short paragraph about what motivated you to become interested in programming in your application. Thank you!
